Nokia in Lebanon

History

Both Lebanese GSM operators actively started their services in early 1995. Six months earlier, when mobile telephony was still a vague concept to most, Meatel was already introducing Nokia Mobile Phones to the Lebanese public.

In the summer of 1994, small Nokia booths were set up in the major Lebanese beach resorts where people were acquainted to using the Nokia mobile phones.

The Nokia name quickly became associated with the best product and service quality, and the market expanded from the selective few to reach every Lebanese individual.

Nokia is now the leading brand in Lebanon, and Meatel has a well-established dealer network covering all of the Lebanese territory.
